At PawCalc, we believe in complete transparency about how we handle your data. The short version: We don't collect, store, or transmit your personal data or your pet's information to our servers.

All calculations happen entirely in your web browser. Your pet's data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share results using your device's native share functionality.

What Data We Collect

Calculator Inputs & Results

When you use our calculators, all input data (weight, age, breed, etc.) and calculation results are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. This data:

• Is NOT sent to our servers
• Is NOT stored in any database
• Remains on your device only

Calculation History

Our calculators offer an optional history feature that stores your past calculations. This history is:

• Stored in your browser's localStorage (on your device only)
• Limited to the last 10 calculations per tool
• Under your complete control - you can clear it anytime
• Never transmitted to our servers
• Automatically deleted if you clear your browser data

Anonymous Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service that:

• Does NOT use cookies
• Does NOT track you across websites
• Does NOT collect personal information
• Provides aggregate statistics only (page views, countries, devices)
• Is GDPR and CCPA compliant

This helps us understand which calculators are most popular so we can improve our service.

What Data We Don't Collect

We do NOT collect or store:

• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Your pet's name or identifying information
• Calculation inputs (weight, age, breed, etc.)
• Calculation results or recommendations
• IP addresses (Ahrefs anonymizes these)
• Browser fingerprints
• Tracking cookies
• Cross-site tracking data

Sharing Results

Our calculators include a "Share Results" button that allows you to share your calculation with others. When you use this feature:

• Your input data is encoded into the URL (e.g., ?weight=50&age=5)
• No data is sent to our servers during sharing
• The recipient can see your input values and results via the URL
• You control what you share and with whom

Be mindful: If you share a URL, anyone with that link can see the calculation data. Don't share links publicly if they contain information you want to keep private.

Third-Party Services

Ahrefs Web Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand how our site is used. Ahrefs is designed with privacy in mind and does not use cookies or track users across sites.

Hosting & CDN

PawCalc is hosted on Vercel. Standard server logs (IP addresses, timestamps, pages accessed) may be collected by the hosting provider for security and performance purposes. These logs are not accessible to us and are automatically deleted after a short retention period.

Your Rights & Controls

Since we don't collect or store your personal data, there's nothing for us to delete, modify, or export. However, you have full control over data stored in your browser:

• Clear History: Use the "Clear History" button in any calculator
• Clear Browser Data: Clear your browser's localStorage/cache
• Private Browsing: Use incognito/private mode to prevent history storage

Children's Privacy

PawCalc is designed for pet owners of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since all calculations happen in the browser and no data is transmitted to our servers, there is no risk of children's data being collected or stored by us.

Data Security

Because we don't collect or store your data on our servers, there's no central database that could be breached. Your data stays on your device, under your control.

We use HTTPS encryption for all connections to ensure the integrity of our website and prevent tampering during transmission.

International Users

PawCalc can be used from anywhere in the world. Since all calculations happen in your browser, your data never crosses international borders to reach our servers.

This makes PawCalc compliant with data privacy regulations worldwide, including GDPR (Europe), CCPA (California), and similar laws.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Since we don't collect your contact information, we can't notify you of changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
